The Mascara That Will Never Let You Down

I did a post recently about a mascara I have been loving, but I decided that one of my all time favourites needs some recognition too. I've been using Thick and Fast by Soap And Glory for a while now, but I always come back to this.

Why I love it:

This is L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black and it's amazing. It's brilliant for adding tons of volume, length and it lasts ages too. To be honest it does exactly what it says on the tin. I love the wand, and it hasn't made my eyes water once! It applies evenly and elongates lashes without making them look too clumpy. It doesn't dry out for ages either and you can build it up from a subtle day look to full on night look too. If I had to compare it to any high end mascara, I find it's almost an exact double for Diorshow. I have them both and I actually prefer this one a little more!

It's easy to find and seems to be on offer quite a lot-I really recommend everyone tries it!

Better Than Fake Lashes-Model Co Fibre Lash

I love the way fake lashes make my eyes look, but I try not to wear them too much. I just can't deal with all the fuss. My sister got me the most amazing mascara though, and I  have a feeling I won't need to wear fakies for a long time! This is the Model Co Fibre Lash mascara and I think it's fantastic. The packaging is so pretty and professional looking, and I was sooo excited to try this out.

How do you use it?

The instructions said to use the lash extending mascara first, and then brush the lash fibres carefully over the mascara. I find it best to leave the fibres set for about 20 seconds, and then apply another layer of mascara. The result is longer, thicker, clump-free lashes that last aaages!

I'm so so impressed with this product, especially since my eyes are irritated easily, and this hasn't hurt them at all.

Sleek Primer Palette-I'm So Disappointed With You!

You all know I love reasonable makeup that's also amazing quality. That's Sleek Makeup through and through. I'm so surprised by my latest Sleek purchase though-I really thought this primer palette would be a thing of beauty. I have so many Sleek eye shadow palettes and they're all SO good! They're incredibly pigmented, blendable, they last aaages and they're under 10 euro too. Let's not forget the contour palette which is one of my holy grail beauty items, and each and every one of their blushes are so fab.

I'm disappointed with this primer palette though. The colours look so pretty, and they're supposed to provide an amazing base for your eye shadow but uhh,..they're definitely not primers! Some of the colours are nice when you use them as cream eye shadows on their own,but most of them crease like it's nobody's business and the highly pigmented ones aren't colours I'd really use to be honest. When I try to blend my eye shadow into it, it just looks really strange and they don't merge well together at all. I use the lighter colours in the palette on a day when I feel too lazy to put any effort into my eye shadow, but apart from that, it's basically untouched.
Has anyone else tried it and actually liked it? Haha! Let me know!

My Fab Mascara Find!

Whenever I'm looking for a new mascara, I look for three words; 'big', 'volume' and 'fake'. Lol. If the mascara has one of these words on the cover, I usually go for this, and I'm very rarely disappointed.

I'm a big fan of the Collection range, and I said I'd give this mascara a go today. The Big Fake Curves mascara is definitely a new favourite of mine. It's just over a fiver, and I can't get over how good it is. I have fairly short lashes from years of overusing eyelashes and mascara (cry) but this does what it says on the tin-it really looks like I'm wearing fake lashes!

I'm wearing two coats of the mascara in the pic (excuse the crazy flash). As you can see, it really is brill and at just over a fiver it wont break the bank. The wand is a little different but I think it's perdy cool, and with the results it gives, I'm not complaining.

If you're wondering what my fave mascara is..

I fall in and out of love with countless mascaras each and every year. Just when I think I've found a winner-BOOM! Another gem sneaks in to steal first place. Here's my current mascara obsession, and I think it'll take a while to find one I prefer.

Thick And Fast by Soap And Glory is a mascara I always always come back to. Just look at the packaging-it's so pretty! The mascara itself has mega volume and it's blacker than priests socks. 2 coats is usually enough for lovely, long volume filled lashes and I'm hooked!

You can find the whole Soap And Glory range at Boots-happy shopping!

This Palette Is Like Mac!!

Oh my gosh-I'm in love with my new eyeshadow palette guys!

I've only just started using Wet N'Wild eyeshadows but I'm seriously in loooove. There are 6 shades in the palette and they're all gorgeous and really pigmented too! The palette is called Comfort Zone and to be honest, they're really like MAC shadows (obviously though, they're a lot cheaper.)

The colours range from light to dark and you get little suggestion of how to use them on the back. So cute! The last four shades are seriously some of the most gorgeous eye shadows I've ever used-they create the most amazing looks!

Definitely go get yourself one of these girls, I really recommend.

Review! Sleek Vintage Romance Palette

Oo how I love Sleek make-up. It's so affordable, and it's just such great quality. I have a few lovely products from Sleek, and here's one I think everyone will love! It's the Sleek Vintage Romance Palette.

Just look at those pretty pretty colours! As you can see the colours range from frosted golds to shimmery purple and cranberry shades. There's a gorgeous matte crease colour, and the sparkly black is one of my favourite shadows ever.

They're all crazy pigmented, blendable, and I think they'd suit all eye colours so nicely! Let's not forget, it's almost Summer, and a palette with bright but wearable colours is a must have! The palette is so affordable too, and you can get it over at sleek :)

If you reaaallly want, you can listen to me ramble some more about it here!

How To Pluck Your Brows Minus The Pain!

For those of us who wince at the thought of plucking our brows, there's a tip that can make life so much easier! I used to use an ice cube to numb the brow before plucking, but I didn't find this helped all that much. What to use instead?

A normal old facecloth!

(You might know these as washcloths if you live in America :) )

All you have to do is warm up the cloth by holding it under warm water for a few seconds. Wring it dry and then hold it to your eyebrow for about 2 minutes. The heat is going to help your pores to open up, which is going to make it so much easier to pluck those stray brow hairs!

If you have no facecloth lying around, you could pluck them right after a shower, for more or less the same effect!

Did this help? I'd love to hear from you!

Applying Fake Lashes For The Terrified!

We all know how annoying fake lashes can be. Sometimes they go on perfectly, without any trouble, but sometimes they're our worst enemy! I drew a little guide on how to apply them, so hopefully you wont have to panic before putting them on.

And enjoy! Hope this helped a little guys! I promise they're not as bad as they might seem and they're not really annoying to wear either!
Have fun!

Which Colour Eyeshadow Should I Use?!

Happy Tuesday people! I hope you're all having an amazing day and doing something crazy and exciting...or you could just be like me and chill with some tea and Netflix :)

I know a lot of people wonder if they're using the right colour eyeshadow for their eyes, so that's what I'm here to help you with! (Also,If you're wondering what brushes you should use, you can check out my video on that right here!)

If you have blue eyes:
To make your eyes pop, you'll want to use warmer colours like browns and peachy tones. Dark smokey colours are perfect if you're going for a dramatic effect. I know it sounds weird but orange/coppery colours will make blue eyes look amazing!

If you have brown eyes:
Seriously, anything will work for brown eyes! To make them pop, I love bronzey and purplish colours for these peepers! Dark shadows are lovely with brown eyes too-you can just use anything!

If you have green eyes:
Browns, golds and purples are soo pretty on green eyes and will make them pop beautifully!

This Estee Lauder Palette is perfect!!

If you have hazel eyes:
The best choice for this beautiful eye colour are grey, purple, and burgundy.

Thanks so much for reading! Happy eyshadow shopping!
Soph :)
