Baby Polar Bear's First Time In The Snow!

Oh my gosh, how CUTE is this polar bear??! First of all, I'm not a huge fan of zoos, but this little guy just melts my heart! Apparently he was very unhealthy at birth so he had to be cared for on his own until just a little a while ago. This is, as you can obviously tell, his first time in the snow and he's such a tootie pie!!

Hahaha! I love that picture! Hope you liked the video guys and have an amazing weekend!

Justin Bieber-Let It Go!!

I'm just gonna come out and say it; it was bound to happen, and we need to get over it.

The day the crazy incident took place, my Facebook feed was flooded with "OMG can you believe Justin Bieber did this" and mugshots all 'round. I admit some of them made me laugh, but I didn't even read an article on what he did because it is seriously, the least interesting thing to me in the world right now.

What do people expect from someone who basically gets either death threats, or threats from obsessed girls every day of their lives. And people are trying to deport him now? I'm not a fan of his music, but I don't physically despise him like everyone else does...this is just ridiculous! I think this was probably building from the Cut4Bieber trend too, and if it was any other random crazy person, no one would really care. I do know what happened though, because IT'S EVERYWHERE! In another few months we'll all have moved on the next story, and Justin (who probably doesn't care about what he did now), probably wont care about it then either. I guess all I'm really trying to say is; he's someone who's trying to move on in his own crazy way, and we need to let him.

Film Review: Run Lola Run

If you haven't already guessed it guys, I love films. I've seen lots and lots of them so I thought maybe I should write a bit about them on my blog! Today we're gonna talk about Run Lola Run, or Lola Rennt, as it's known in Germany. I'll tell you right now, it might not be everyone's taste, and if you're not a fan of subtitles then don't say I didn't warn you, but I really like it.

dvdbear.com

So the story is...hmm I actually don't know how to explain this one without giving too much away! It revolves around a girl named Lola who receives a phone call from her very panicky boyfriend, who tells her she has 20 minutes to help him try and find 100 grand, or he's in big, big trouble. Sounds a little straight forward doesn't it? Well it's not! The opening scene is soo cool-I saw it first when I was really small and I can remember thinking it was cool then too! The whole film is just really unique and different, doing things like giving snap shots into minor character's lives, and showing snippets of the film through animation.

The soundtrack is perfect for the film and really suits the mood, but the best thing about this film is it leaves you going; "who, what, why?!" which I love! That's all I'll say about it because it's hard to explain without ruining anything, but yeah-just go watch it haha!

Film reviews are so much fun to do, so I'll definitely be doing more!
Enjoy!

Bathroom Selfies And My New Detox Mission

What a random post this is haha! I'm really bored though, so I figured; why not!

If anyone's wondering about the selfie part of the post, here's the new make-up look I tried out the other night! I went for a really bronze smokey eye with kind of dark under eye tones-I was really happy with it!

Displaying 2014-01-24 18.08.43.jpg

For those of you who don't know, there's not much stuff I can eat without feeling really horrible after it, which is why I'm in the process (of slowly) detoxing! I've been reading loads about it online, and they're all pretty much the same. The cardinal rules seem to be;

Exercise
Yoga
Healthy Eating
Stress Relief
Lots Of Water
And so on and so forth

I'm actually really excited about this, I just hate feeling all sluggish and icky after eating! So I'll inform you guys of my journey as much as I can, and if anyone has advice on detoxing I'd love to know!

Which Colour Eyeshadow Should I Use?!

Happy Tuesday people! I hope you're all having an amazing day and doing something crazy and exciting...or you could just be like me and chill with some tea and Netflix :)

I know a lot of people wonder if they're using the right colour eyeshadow for their eyes, so that's what I'm here to help you with! (Also,If you're wondering what brushes you should use, you can check out my video on that right here!)

If you have blue eyes:
To make your eyes pop, you'll want to use warmer colours like browns and peachy tones. Dark smokey colours are perfect if you're going for a dramatic effect. I know it sounds weird but orange/coppery colours will make blue eyes look amazing!

If you have brown eyes:
Seriously, anything will work for brown eyes! To make them pop, I love bronzey and purplish colours for these peepers! Dark shadows are lovely with brown eyes too-you can just use anything!

If you have green eyes:
Browns, golds and purples are soo pretty on green eyes and will make them pop beautifully!

This Estee Lauder Palette is perfect!!

If you have hazel eyes:
The best choice for this beautiful eye colour are grey, purple, and burgundy.

Thanks so much for reading! Happy eyshadow shopping!

They Finally Revealed What Happened To Amber

Well, it's about time! This post is gonna be a little different to the others on my blog, but I thought people might be interested in finding out what happened.

The co-producer of Amber, Paul Duane, went to speak to Ryan Tubridy on 2FM, and Tubs, like many of us, was not too happy with the ending. It might be kinda unfair but he basically coaxed the ending out of the co-producer.

He said; “Paul, Paul, hang on a second. I am not a stupid man. I watched four episodes of it so don’t answer in riddles. If you do know the answer to what happened to Amber, tell me.”

So Paul replied with: “Well, Amber’s dead.”

He went on to say that if you watch the show back, and decipher the clues, you'll realise there's lots of water imagery in the show, leading us to believe that Amber's somewhere in the water. He also said that the killer was someone outside the show, so we can rule all the known suspects out.

I watched every episode of Amber and I wasn't the only one who was slightly annoyed by the end of the programme. I understand what it was trying to say and it definitely got the message across, but at the end of the day, it's still a tv programme and people hate to be left in the dark. Who knows if they'll bring it back, but with the floods of complaints RTE received it looks likely.

Friday Film Talk: Watership Down...What A Crazy Film!

So I was scouring the net last night when everyone else was probably asleep, and I remembered this film I used to like when I was small, called "Watership Down". Well I looked it up on YouTube and my first thoughts were: "amm what?! I didn't see anything strange about this at the time?!" For those of you who don't know, I have a really crazy memory, so I remembered the film and what it was about, I just didn't remember ever seeing anything wrong with it. I watched it again for the first time in years last night and I just thought "woah-how is this so underrated?!" If you don't remember the film, you'll probably remember the tv show.

Now for those of you who don't know, Watership Down is a 1978 animated adventure featuring lots of fuzzy bunnies. I know, sounds cute doesn't it? WRONG! This film is directed so much more towards adults in my opinion. Animated films as we all know are usually intended for children, and that's why I think so many of them watched it. That doesn't mean it's not a brilliant movie though. The film is based on the novel of the same name by Richard Adams, who was known for writing dark novels featuring animals.

So the film basically revolves around a group of bunnies who try to find a new home for themselves when Fiver (cool name) has a vision that their home will soon be no more. They go to the chief and he doesn't care, so a few bunnies set off on their own adventure. Hazel is our main man and the leader of the group, and I know you're thinking, "this sounds like a nice kids movie!" well let's talk about Violet, the only female rabbit in the group.

Oh wait, we can't because her friend up there just witnessed her being killed by a hawk! Seriously..not long into the film and one of our friends is already dead! I'm not complaining about the weirdness though, I actually think it's a cool representation of real wildlife. I've noticed as well that films were a lot more like this back in my day, but they're not anymore and maybe that's why it's such a shock to me now. I'm not gonna ruin the film for anyone who wants to watch it, but it's really crazy. It deals with loads of themes from trust, to society and it's been studied lots by students because there's just so much going on.
It does get really weird in parts, I'll just let you all know now. There's extremely bloody fights and it can get very graphic. And look at the villain!

"I'm really really creepy."

I don't think you'll ever see rabbits in the same way after this (who knew they like to fight to the death?!) and be warned for those of you who are really overly sensitive, it's kind of heartbreaking. I would have liked to have seen a little more character development but that's really my only complaint. The music is beautiful and so edgy at times, and some of the dialogue is weird, but hey-I love weird haha!

I'm really blown away by how unique this film is and I really would watch it again. It's so honest for a cartoon and that's something we never see anymore. For 1978, the animation is really beautiful and the scenery is amazing.

My score on this one: 8/10 for being unique and weird and really really cool.

Thanks for reading everyone!

The Weirdest Thing About Irish People..

Happy Thursday everyone! Bit of a random post, but it's something I've been thinking about a lot so I said I'd write a little about it.

Ever since I was small, I noticed something really strange about Ireland. We have a really weird almost stupid thing when it comes to family. Now, I know there are people who have life long friends who DO consider them family, but at the end of the day, Irish people are so much more likely to side with their 70th cousin removed, than with people they've been friends with for years!

What is this mentality? I know, I know, "blood is thicker than water" and all that, but what does that say for families who have adopted children, or fostered them? How do you think they feel about that saying? And what about parents who have stepped in to take the place of one who was maybe never there etc. For them to hear that they're not loved as much because they aren't blood could be really hurtful.

It seems really strange to me that a person could go to the ends of the earth to defend a second cousin they don't know that much about, solely due to the fact that they're "blood." It's a really old fashioned way of thinking in my opinion and I find it can often lead to so much unnecessary drama between friends. I don't know how to exactly get across the point I'm trying to make here haha but I think you all get what I mean.

Sorry for the book but it's something I feel really strongly about and I just had to share my opinion haha!
Thanks for reading!

Make Your Own Super Cheap Concealer!

Who wants to learn how to make their own concealer?!

Woohoo! It's time for another D.I.Y make-up trick! It's a little hidden make-up fact that a good foundation should fix up most of what you wanna cover, but concealer helps to wake us up, and cover the last of those annoying blemishes! Most of you probably have concealer lying around anyway but this is a perfect fix if you run out before a night out! All you need is a few products that are probably lying around your room anyways! Which would be:

All you have to do now is mix BB cream, some light liquid foundation (or moisturiser), and scrape off a little pressed powder that you don't mind looking a bit deformed haha! You can keep it in any empty container you like or even a contact case.

Did this work for you? Let me know! Thanks so much for reading!

Garth Brooks Is Coming To Ireland!

Yup he sure is! The news is all over my Facebook and Twitter at the moment so I might as well just post something about it here too! I hear a lot of jokes being made about poor Garth, but admit it-there's at least one Garth Brooks song you like a little! I'm contemplating going because I just really want to wear a Cowboy hat. Now it's not 150% official but there's enough speculation to suggest it's true.

He'll be here in probably early Summer and it's supposedly gonna be a comeback special and a real hoot.

Online Make-up Haul!

^^^Watch this for the most ridiculous video ending EVER! Haha!

Woohoo! A brand new video! I was really nervous about starting a channel (which you can check out here if you like!) but it's soo much fun! I got such nice products online and I'm so happy with them, so I decided to make a video! I'll put the links up for where I got all the products later on because I'm kind of in a rush to go and watch Legally Blonde haha! But until then, you can just check out all the products in the video up there. ^
The products I mentioned in the video are:

MAC Smolder eyeliner- This is such a nice eyeliner. I don't really go for expensive make-up but I got this on special offer. You get loads in it which is great because we all know eyeliner gets smaller by the second! It blends amazingly and it's blacker than Father Ted's socks. Love it.

Maybelline Silk Glam Quad- I've been wanting this for ages and I think it was like 4 euro on eBay! These colours are so pretty and I love the texture! Perfect for glam eyes (you can watch my glam eyes video here) and most of them make beautiful solo colours.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder- This is my holy grail face powder. I just love it! If you watch the video you'll see why too, I explain all about my embarrassing face problem haha!

Inglot Sparkling Dust-This is amaazing! I actually got this for Christmas but I decided to review it anyway 'cause I love it!

Thanks for watching everyone!
Have an amazing evening!

Happy Winnie The Pooh Day! Facts And Fun

Oooo I am so excited about this day!! I love love loved Winnie The Pooh when I was growing up, and one of the first books I can remember reading was a Winnie The Pooh book when I was only 4! That's 16 whole years ago and children all around the world still love him and his little friends! To celebrate, I drew that little pic of classic Winnie up there, and this is gonna be a random jumble of a few of my fave Pooh Bear facts and quotes! Yay!

People Really Play Poohsticks

Poohsticks has to be THE cutest game in the world! It involves Christopher Robin and Pooh Bear dropping sticks off a bridge into a river, and seeing which one comes out first at the other side. Awww! The funny thing is people actually take this sport seriously, and hold contests and everything-crazy!

"So they gathered on the old wooden bridge and played the game for many contented hours. And Eeyore, who had never played it before, won more times than anyone else. But poor Tigger won none at all."

A.A Milne based the characters on his son's toys!

A.A Milne is the creator of Winnie The Pooh. He started writing books about the animals of the Hundred- acre wood (I didn't even have to google that-saad haha!) based on his own sons teddies! His son's name was, you guessed it, Christopher Robin, and apart from changing the character style and all that jazz, Disney stayed surprisingly close to the original story lines and characters. I loved it anyway!

mrkstyle.com

Pooh Is The Cutest Thing In The World

Even when I was small I was sure of one thing; Pooh was the loveliest bear in the whole world. He was always trying to do things to make his friends happy or fix teeny tiny Piglet's mistakes. Oh Piglet. Some of the nicest quotes in the world are from Pooh and they always make me smile. I don't care how cheesy that is.

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

Mr.Sanders

If you know Pooh Bear you'll know "he lived under the name Mr.Sanders", this being the sign over the door of his house. A lot of people reckon it's just Pooh's second name but I think more than that. It's been thought that Milne wrote under the name Sander's sometimes, and other people say he was a guy who worked for Milne. Whatever the case, it's food for thought.

flickr.com

Pooh was called Edward Bear first, after the original teddy, but then changed to Winnie, after Winnipeg, a bear who was the mascot for a Canadian Army. He's known as Pooh, Pooh Bear, but never Winnie. That just sounds so weird!

Piglet Is So Cute

Piglet used to annoy me a little when I was younger, I don't know why! Now I can see that he's seriously so cute and he has some quotes that'll make you go aaaww!!!

“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. "Pooh?" he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's hand. "I just wanted to be sure of you.”

“Supposing a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?'
'Supposing it didn't,' said Pooh after careful thought.
Piglet was comforted by this.”

The real Roo teddy was lost in an orchard in the 1930s

Which makes me really sad and I wanna go find him!

I really think this is the cutest day ever! I better start getting ready cause I gots places to be haha but hope you all enjoyed this! I'll leave you all with another loverly quote! Have a supoyb night!
Soph x

“One of the advantages of being disorganized is that one is always having surprising discoveries.”

(All quotes from A.A Milne-Legend!)

Best Face Powders! Pharmacy And High End!

The Best Face Powders

Woo it's Saturday everyone! You probably have no clue, but that means it's time for Saturday's make-up look, which I'll be recording later! We all know a good face powder is a must have for nights out. I happen to be one of those lucky people who goes sooo red after I dance, and the only thing that'll hide it is a really good powder! I have 2 amazing pharmacy and high end powders for you to try-I think you'll love them! The sites where I got the pics from are all underneath if you wanna have a look too!

Pharmacy

Let's start off with NYC Smooth Skin Face Powder

superdrug.com

NYC products are soo good for those of us a budget! I swear by their mascaras and this powder is just lovely! It's so nice to apply and really does make your skin nice and smooth. It's no more than 3 yoyos too so who could complain about that? The most important thing is, it's not cakey which I hate about some powders! I got mine in Sam MacCauley's and I'm sure they're in pharmacies all over the place!

Rimmel Stay Matte

I really love this powder. Some people prefer other pharmacy powders over this one but it works perfectly for me! It's only around 5euro and it lasts aaages! It's light and it adds the pefect finishing touch to your face. Definitely a go to daytime powder too 'cause it's not too heavy!

rimmel.com

High End

I was going to write about Ben Nye Banana Powder 'cause that's also amazing, but today we'll go with:
Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

glamourandgo.com

This is probably one of the most widely known powders in the world and for good reason! It's such a unique product and maybe that's why people like it so much. It's tone correcting, concealing, and really good for people that have problems with under eye circles and wrinkles. There's a touch of foundation in it, and for those of you who don't know, MAC do a damn good cream foundation! There's a colour for everyone and it's one of my most loved make-up items too! It might be more of a night time foundation for some people 'cause it's slightly heavier than a translucent powder but I still wear it during the day hehe :)

Make Up Forever HD Microfinish Powder

image

makeupalley.com

I find a lot of companies lie about those 2 little words, HD-but not MUFE! They're probably my fave high end make-up line because their products are so brilliant. This is possibly the best powder I've ever used and it's not superly crazy expensive either. A little goes a long way and it's perfect if you're prone to oily skin. Love this.

So there you go! Have fun powder shopping everyone and I hope this helped a little! Have an amazing day!

New Video-A Few Beauty Tricks And Tips

  BEAUTY TIPS AND TRICKS

Wooohooo! A brand new video! This is just a quick Tipful Tuesday type thing to hopefully give you guys a little help when it comes to make-up. I'm sorry for my husky maaan voice and the awful cut away at the end. I'm honestly too scared to attempt to fix it without deleting anything so it'll have to do :)

Thanks for watching!

Make-Up For Your Eye Shape

Finding The Right Make-Up For Your Eye Shape

Hey there peeps!

I was feeling artistic today so I decided to draw little diagrams of different eye shapes, and the different make-up techniques you can use to make them look lovely! I've read a few of these articles in the past that try to teach you how to change your eye shape with make-up, but I think why not embrace the shape you have!

If your eye shape is....

Obviously there are a lot more eye shapes but I think these are the most common ones, and we don't want to go too crazy with it haha! Hope this helped a little for anyone wondering!

The 20 Euro Make-Up Challenge!!

Can 20 Euro Buy All The Make-Up You Need? Let's find out!!

I saw this tag going around YouTube and I thought I'd do a post on it since I can't do a video right now! I went shopping with no more than 20 yoyos in my pocket, and it's surprisingly hard to find make-up for your whole face for 20 euro! I spent my time looking and the people working definitely thought I was up to something hehe! Keep in mind also, this is just my opinion of all the make-up you need for a completed look. Anyways, here's what I found;

Foundation:
NYC Natural Matte Foundation-4.99

I'm seriously a big fan of NYC! This foundation has really nice coverage for the price and it smells lovely which is strange for a foundation-but there you go!

 Eyeshadow:
NYC Individual Eyes-3.99

I had one of these little palettes already but I just got another 'cause they're really nice! There's a different palette to suit every eye colour, but you can just pick whichever one you like.

Concealer
Essence Stay Natural Concealer-1.99

I really like this little concealer! It does a really good job of covering up imperfections and it's not too cakey. My only problem with it is it doesn't last too long, but it was the best one I could find for the price haha!

Mascara-3.65
NYC City Curls

This is a lovely little mascara. NYC mascaras are really really good, so you'll pretty much be happy with whichever one you go for!

Lipgloss
Catrice Infinite Shine-1.99

These are loverly lip glosses and there's a whole loada colours to pick from! I got the second one because I'm obsessed with coral colours, but they're all soo pretty.

Eyeliner
Essence Kajal Pencil-1.99

Essence Kajal Eye Pencil

I was debating on whether to pick this or the essence liquid eyeliner, but I went with this in the end because you can do winged liner with this too. Black eyeliner is the perfect tool for smokey eyes and I think this will really help to finish off your look with a...kick? Lol I don't know but you get what I mean.

Hopefully I've done this challenge properly since there doesn't seem to be a lot to it haha! I like these YouTube tags actually, they're really fun! Hopefully I'll be able to do a video for the next challenge, and until then, happy shopping!
